Will DragonĀ® work for my voice (or accent)?

For most people, the answer is a resounding "YES!" What most people don't realize is that Dragon comes with a variety of "Speech Models" which can accommodate people with a variety of accents. Even if your particular accent is not on the list, Dragon can still work exceptionally well for you with proper training (i.e., a French accent). The built-in speech models include the following: Standard North American, Inland Northern U.S. (i.e., Boston/Chicago/New York), British, East Indian, Australian, Pakistani, Southeast Asian, Southern U.S., and Spanish accented English.

Will Dragon work with my applications (computer programs)?

YES - for most Windows-based applications, Dragon works exceptionally well. You simply put the cursor where you want the text to appear, turn the microphone on, begin dictating, and your words magically appear on the screen. There are a few exceptions to this. If you use specialty software applications and are considering Dragon, please feel free to contact us (info@talkitup.ca) to discuss your needs more specifically.

Does Dragon work with Windows 8?

YES - The latest version of Dragon (version 13) works well with Windows version 8, and 8.1. It also works great with Windows version 7, and we still have clients who use the latest version of Dragon on Windows XP. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.

Can I install Dragon on more than one computer?

YES - This software is actually licensed on a "per person" basis, and each user is allowed to install the software on up to 5 computers right out-of-the-box. However, please be aware that each copy of the software is only licensed for use by one person (or one "voice"). For example, if an individual user wants to have their Dragon software installed on a home computer, an office computer, and a laptop, that is perfectly fine as long as each device is using the same user profile. The software does not support set up of multiple user profiles. Additionally, there are ways that we can set up your software so that all of your custom words, and commands are available everywhere Dragon is installed.

Can I add custom or unusual words?

YES - This is a feature that has been included in the software for many, many years. While Dragon already has approximately 250,000 words built into it, sometimes people's names or specialty terminology (i.e., medical terms), may not always be in the software. You can easily add a word, and teach Dragon how it is properly spelled, and let Dragon hear how you say that specific word

What about Medical Terminology?

There are over 90 medical specialty and subspecialty vocabularies built into and available on the Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 software. If you are a physician, this is the version for you! Is Technical Support available for Dragon after it has been purchased?

If you purchase your software from us; YES, there is technical support available to help you get your Dragon software up and running as quickly as possible, and ensure that it stays that way

Is TELEPHONE Technical Support available?

YES - we are real people who will answer the phone if you call. While we may not always be available because we may be helping some of our other excellent customers when you call, we do return calls as soon as possible.
